Juice or water fasting?
Preparing for Your Fast
-
Make sure you are healthy enough for a liquid fast.
-
Talk to your doctor.
-
Decide how long you intend to fast.
-
Figure out what you intend to spend.
-
Stock up on what you need.
-
How much water should you drink during fasting?
Water fasting entails drinking only water. Juice fasting is more permissive, incorporating fruits and vegetables in juiced form. Water fasts offer no nutrition, while juice fasting offers some calories, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
How much water should you drink during fasting?
Let's kick things off with how much water you need to drink every day during a water fast. The officially recommended water intake for adult men stands at about 3 liters (13 cups) of water per day. Women, on the other hand, should drink about 2.5 liters (11 cups) of water every day.
100% juice from your local market such as orange, grape, cranberry, apple juices can be a cheaper and easy way to juice fast.
* If the Doctor will not allow you to do a liquid fast you can opt-out and do a OMAD diet or Daniel fast, please continue to read below, Seek Doctors advice about all fasting.
The Daniel Fast
is based upon the prophet Daniel’s experiences as recorded in the Bible. Scripture gives us some insight (such as in Dan. 10:3) into what he ate and didn’t eat; however, we don’t know his complete menu. What we do know is this: In Daniel 1, Daniel chose not to eat the royal food that he was being served and ate only vegetables and drank water. Another time (in Daniel 10:2-3) he deprived himself of choice food, meat, and wine as he sought the Lord in prayer. Most commentaries believe “choice food” would have been bread and sweets.
